Emergencies and severe illness
Nepal
In Nepal, the Quick Check+ was adapted and implemented as part of the Pandemic Influenza Preparedness activities, broadened to all priority pathogens with epidemic potential as well as endemic causes of severe adult illness.
In Nepal, the Quick Check+ training modules and the first volume of the IMAI District Clinician Manual and wallchart were adapted with an adaptation workshop sponsored by MOH EDCD and WCO. The Clinician’s role in disease surveillance and response emphasized SARI/influenza; two acute viral hemorrhagic fevers with person-to-person transmission: Ebola/Marburg (due to concern about introduction during the West Africa Ebola outbreak) and CCHF; cholera; other priority conditions with fever or acute jaundice. After two training of trainers, the adapted materials were used to train clinical teams in all provinces.
