Mona Shah is a physician specializing in preventive medicine and public health. She is one of the founders of the IMAI Alliance (then IMAI-IMCI Alliance) in the state of Florida in 2010 and continues to run the organization as the current Director of Operations.
Dr. Shah received her MD from Boston University School of Medicine and completed her residency training at Abington Memorial Hospital (PA) and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Shah served as the senior physician in Primary Care and later in the TB Control Program at the Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County. She worked with the WHO IMAI team as a Medical Officer, initially in 2004, in the development, field-testing and scale up of the WHO IMAI HIV care/ART clinical training program in Uganda and later as a technical consultant. She is the clinical lead for the NCD program and leads the SEARO COVID-19 remote training program with SEARO.
Dr. Shah enjoys teaching third year medical students at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, spending time with her family, reading, and looks forward to traveling again.
